Capacity Enhancement

At EV4C, we co-design and facilitate highly interactive, participatory capacity enhancement curricula that equip organizational staff and community change agents to activate the COMEAL/FMEAL processes.

We accompany your organization, partners and community groups to ground feminist-/COMEAL principles in your MEAL practice through:

Facilitation of hybrid capacity enhancement workshops interspersed with 1:1 coaching

We develop interactive, engaging orientation and training packages. We have experience in creating effective asynchronous e-learning curriculums based on key MEAL and learning milestones.

In our experience, feminist-/COMEAL approaches and methodologies are experiential; meaning that they are difficult to learn from reading a manual and are more difficult to learn through virtual mediums. We highly recommend that the MEAL accompaniment training and coaching have at least two key in-person engagements:

A kick off workshop

This workshop can be preceded by virtual sessions that introduce foundational concepts on the selected feminist-/COMEAL approaches and methodologies. In the kick-off workshop, we deep dive into relationship and trust building, exploring how the approaches and methodologies need to be adapted to the various complex contexts, and experiencing how the different methods are facilitated.

Analysis and sense-making workshop

This workshop is a critical moment in the feminist-/COMEAL process. Understanding how to use their Theory of Change and community-owned indicators to determine the status of well-being in their community and how the results are drawn is an eye-opening moment. All the elements of the feminist-/COMEAL process come together in this moment and it can be difficult to navigate virtually. Once partners and community groups understand how to calculate their results, participants truly gain a confidence they did not have before to share their data and story.
