Land Acknowledgement
At Elevating Voices for Change (EV4C), we acknowledge that our home office is located in Guelph, Ontario, on the traditional lands of the Anishnaabe, Attawandaron, Haudenosaunee, and Métis peoples. This land is part of the Between the Lakes Purchase (Treaty 3), and is currently held in treaty with the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation.
We recognize the ongoing histories, cultures, and rights of Indigenous peoples in Canada, and we are committed to truth, reconciliation, and the self-determination of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis communities. As part of this commitment, we integrate culturally aware MEAL (Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning) practices that centre the voices and agency of the communities impacted by the programs we support.
Our work actively challenges colonial mindsets in MEAL, development, and aid. We support our partners in recognizing power and privilege and in building systems that foster community-led learning, justice, and equity.
